WestCoastRydaz ThrowBack/Vault Video! 2006 Interview and 5-Min Freestyle with Mistah FAB [Video]
The Bay Area's no slouch when it comes to supporting their stars, and Mistah FAB is a prime example of that hometown love. Bay Area readers were both excited to know they were getting a new interview and to get treated to another of his signature freestyle sessions, but what we loved about the interview the most was the emerging bond it showed between rising Bay Area and Southern Cali rappers and fans.
FAB was of course reppin' the Bay hard through his music and slang in the interview, but he also had plenty of good to say about a number of Los Angeles and San Diego rappers. The supposed chasm between the two Cali neighbors is often overstated, and it was refreshing to see a notable like FAB shouting out all the rappers and producers he did, all while in LA to politic and link up with the same names he mentioned.
Since then we've seen both parts of the coast follow up on their talk with great BAY to LA features, shows, collabs and more, all living up to a more united network of talented artists. If we're lucky as a musical scene out West, that network will continue to grow!
